Afternoon Tea & Catering
We serve delicious afternoon tea every Saturday and Sunday at our tea room in Didsbury from 1pm. A selection of our delicious cakes, fluffy scones and chocolate dipped strawberries are served on china cake tiers handmade by local craftspeople. We have many varieties of tea to choose from including delicious loose-leaf teas from The Brew Tea Company, a tea blending company based in Liverpool.
Please note that reservations are now required for Afternoon Tea, to ensure that we have enough stock for all you cake lovers! If you would like to book a table, please give us a ring and we’ll take your booking. The deadline for bookings is Friday afternoons. We look forward to seeing you! External Tea Parties and Afternoon Tea
If you can’t get to us why not ask us to come to you! We regularly provide an external cake catering service for any event or occasion… perfect for an alternative wedding, hen do or christening!
We work with a fantastic vintage crockery specialist For the Love of Vintage and wedding accessories designer Silver Sixpence in Her Shoe to create a bespoke event for your special occasion. From delicious cakes to beautiful vintage crockery and table linen, we have everything covered. Our price list and menu options will be available soon but if you require a quote in the meantime, please contact us for more details.
Our Cake & Cupcake Classes
Cupcake Decorating Classes are held at our Didsbury Shop & Tea Room throughout the year. They make perfect gifts for your cake-loving friends and family or a fantastic treat for your very good self!
Classes are £35 per person and include:
- Tea and cake on arrival
- A 2 hour lesson in icing & decorating. where you will learn:
- How to make perfect icing
- How to pipe icing in various styles
- How to make simple but beautiful sugar decorations,
- How to top your cupcakes to make them look fantastic!
All of the above is done in small classes of 6-8 people so that you get the right level of attention from your tutor (the master baker). And you’ll get to take all of your fantastic creations home to eat (or look at lovingly and adoringly!).
We also have a lovely and very talented photographer friend in the form of jonny draper (www.jonnydraper.co.uk). Jonny attends most of our classes to photograph every second of you creating your masterpieces. We then send the photographs to you afterwards so that you have a memento of your evening!
We can even hold private sessions for you and your friends if you would like to – perfect for hen do’s and birthdays!
Classes begin at 7pm and end at 9pm.

To reserve, simply pop into the shop or contact us to book a place, payment by card can also be taken over the phone.
We ask that any cancellations or changes to dates be made at least one month before the date of the booked class. Although we will do our best to accommodate any requests for cancellations or date changes under a months notice by re-advertising spaces, refunds or date alterations cannot be guaranteed within this time.
Other Classes
We have teamed up with Laura of Laura Coleman flowers to hold a series of classes for the florally curious – perfect for flower lovers across the land.
The next class with availability is entitled ’Romantic Blooms’ and takes place on Thursday 23rd February 2012
